Day 7 - Course Playing (Luke, Wyatt)

Today was a fantastic day full of fun and challenging golf! To start, we split the group up into two groups and headed to separate courses. One group went to Wildcat Golf Course and played on the Lakes course. Let’s just say many balls were lost in the water. This course was especially hilly, requiring quite the trek. The other group went to Quail Valley and played on the beautiful El Dorado course. I think it would be safe to say that many of us are not the best of golfers, and the strong winds did not help. With balls flying left and right, we had to adapt to the course and think of strategies to finish with a good score.

One thing that was unique with this day was that we were sharing the course with other paying customers. This meant we had to play relatively fast and keep moving at all times. It was a much faster experience than what we played at First Tee before. This was a challenge as most paying customers were very skilled at the game and moved through the course with ease.

Overall, we learned many great skills on the golf course, such as letting other groups ‘play through’ and picking up when necessary. While we all had our struggles, everyone improved their golf game, which is both physical and mental. Above all, we had a great time playing golf and hanging out with friends!
